Some believe Medina was actually named for Midyan, one of the sons of Avraham via Keturah. At least the Arab countries have been open enemies, while the US has said, "Peace, Peace, while concealing subterfuge and covertly undermining Israel. The lesson Israel will learn is that they are being drawn into the wilderness, away from the false gods and idols they have depended upon, and the false allies and lovers they have committed adultery with. When there is no one else to look to, they will look up to heaven and cry for deliverance.
