Do you have a testimony to share that might be informative and/or encouraging to other One Law Messianic Believers in Yeshua? I'm going to create a section of this blog for people to share their experiences. If this interests you then I'd like to suggest the following format:
-1 to 5 pages in length
-Refrain from using people's real names in order to preserve privacy
-Include sections about (1) how you identify/practice; (2) areas where you're confused and looking for guidance; (3) thoughts about how Messianic Judaism can improve; (4) what types of obstacles have you encountered and how have you dealt with those obstacles.
And, yes, I'll try to draft something as well.
Blessings to you all,
Peter
Peter, can *former* One Law believers also submit their stories?
ReplyDeleteGene, if that were the case, then people like me, who spent about ten years in the One Law movement before transitioning onward, would be able to submit testamonies. I wonder if I would be able to keep it under five pages. ;-)
DeleteJust a little joke.
There is no One Law, there are 613 of them.....
DeleteGene,
DeleteSure, why not.
James,
DeleteI encourage you to go beyond the five page recommendation if it helps you to tell your story.
Your invitation is certainly gracious Peter but I hope you know that I was kidding about the five-page limit. Since I write a ridiculous amount and, as Dan sometimes complains, post rather lengthy missives, I thought I'd take a quick "poke" at myself. ;-)
ReplyDeleteReally, I wouldn't know where to begin. As you probably know, I had another blog that I used for about a year, to explore the "One Law question" which ultimately resulted in me leaving One Law. My very first blog post there was called Fractured Fellowship, which you may find slightly amusing, because it's the version of "me" who was One Law at the time (July 2010).
If you scroll down to the comments section, you'll see that both Dan and Gene responded abundantly. That was just the beginning of the journey that lead me to see myself as a Christian and others, including my wife, as Jews in a whole new light (well, new for me at the time).
It was an amazingly painful and rewarding experience. If anyone wants to read my "witness," about moving from One Law to whoever I happen to be right now, that's where they'll find it.
Thanks for link, James. I encourage people to check it out.
DeleteI remember those days, we were trying to keep you from losing your mind... and I got to poke around with Gene. :P I am Jeruz=Zion "Jeruz/Zion". That was a good discussion, and Gene helped me realize why One Law is the appropriate path, thanks Gene.
ReplyDelete"Gene helped me realize why One Law is the appropriate path, thanks Gene."
DeleteYou're welcome, Jeruz/Zion - I live but to serve. Some folks are probably best remaining as part of the One Law shtick (and the "Two Shtick") movement!
Ah. that helps, "Jeruz/Zion." It's difficult to "map" people to their online personas sometimes.
