So I've been talking to some grass-roots leaders this week, guys like Cajun and Judah Himango. It seems we're all seeing the same problem: the One-Law Messianic movement is fractured and disorganized as a whole and, though we have some great leaders, they are not united.
So I say let's get them all to sit down in one room, have some bagels and coffee, and have an informal discussion. They can talk about how to establish a unified vision, how to delineate core values, how to open channels of communication--everything related to long term strategic planning.
HERE'S WHERE YOUR HELP IS NEEDED:
If you could write down the names of the trusted leaders in the movement, that would be a big help. We need leaders from a cross-section of the movement, guys who are humble, diplomatic, peaceful, righteous, and have solid reputations.
Great idea. I would again recommend all of the guys of the UMJA. Tim Hegg speaks at their conferences.

Additionally:
J.K. McKee
J.K. McKee is a guy I have come to trust as a nose-to-the-Scriptures, gracious, steadfast man of God.
DeleteIf you'd like to contact Norman Willis of Nazarene Israel I know 100% sure he is one law. He is very knowledgeable in scripture & a very humble guy.
DeleteYes, those guys are solid. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows the men from 119 Ministries:
ReplyDeletehttp://119ministries.com/
I don't know them but I know that Derek Leman doesn't like them...so that scores them some points in my book. : )
Don't know them personally. Reviewed some of their teachings, and have had a mixed bag.
DeleteAnyone know Daniel Botkin from the Gates of Eden site?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.gatesofeden.org/
I've met Botkin, and had him speak at our congregation. I don't know him well enough to trust him.
DeleteJust saw something interesting. On 119ministries.com they have two directories. Under the "Social Networking" tab if you go to "Find Fellowship" it gives you a list of congregations. We could go through that and see if there's any One-Law Messianic congregations.
ReplyDeleteAlso, under the "Find Others" tab, it gives you a map of the entire U.S. showing a plethora of congregations. I'll start on the Eastern region, determining which ones are One-Law and compiling contact info...perhaps others out there can divide up the rest according to Western, Central, and Southern? Let me know if anything looks promising.
James Trimm and all of those at: http://www.thenazareneway.com/index.htm
ReplyDeleteExcellent, excellent, stuff.
You may be able to find some of those that do subscribe to the One Torah ideology in the Links, or Congregations on the Coalition of Torah Observant Messianic Communities website.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ctomc.ca/
Oops, "Coalition of Torah Observant Messianic CONGREGATIONS" : )
ReplyDeleteAnonymous and Marko,
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic. I'll start compiling a list in a separate part of this blog. When we get to the contacting phase then I'll start keeping a list of the ones who are on board for having a meeting.
Also, I was thinking about calling this the Kol Echad Initiative (One Voice Initiative) because the idea is giving every member of the Messianic Kahal a voice. Many voices becoming one combined voice (echad) through their leadership uniting as a federal entity (whilst keeping power exclusively in the local congregations). So I'll try to set up a tab at the top for the Kol Echad Initiative. And maybe there's a graphic designer out there who can come up with a design for some flyers or a facebook page for this initiative.
As mentioned here by another commenter, I've found J.K. McKee of Outreach Israel to be trustworthy, engaged in biblical scholarship, faithful to Yeshua above all, a real Hebrew Roots leader.
ReplyDeleteI say that as someone who has been in the Messianic and Hebrew Roots movements for 20 some years.
Some side information, which you may know, but just to be clear, being One Law, does not mean being Two House, so for example, trying to unite One Law with Two Housers, can propose a dilemma. How would you go about this? I for one am on the side of One Law. I do not have any form of hatred towards my Two House brethren, but I do have some conflicts in theology... Tim Hegg for example is against Two House theology, and if I remember correctly JK Mckee is for Two House, how do they come together in your eyes?
ReplyDeleteWe'll figure out a way to get along. I for one would never impose my eschatological opinions on anyone--that would be extremely arrogant. I would submit myself to core doctrines accepted by the consensus of One Law Messianics. I think the solution would be to relegate Two House and other eschatologies to the realm of non-essentials within the purview of local congregations. But we'll have to discuss this as a Body. I would submit myself to the Ruach's control of the Body in ALL matters.
DeleteThank you Zion. This is why I held back. As an Israeli, I have nothing to do with the false doctrine of the 2 house. I am out....
ReplyDeleteSee above response to Zion.
DeletePeter, You’re a champion. Press forward and unite the troops. G-d has brought you to us to push forward, unite, and ultimately declare!
ReplyDeleteI'm just a sinner, brother. Not even a righteous man. But your encouragement is very appreciated. We're all going to be spiritually attacked very soon. Make no mistake. And the only way to survive is through unifying around the Ruach and submitting to His guidance as a community of one law.
DeleteBe blessed,
Peter
May I suggest Dan Benzvi as the elder statesman of the unified Hebrew Roots/One-Law/Two House movement? Being Jewish he can bring a lot of credibility and help establish the fledgling movement as the place where there's no difference between Jews and Gentiles.
ReplyDeleteGene Shlomovich, ladies and gentlemen! He'll be here all week! *applause*
DeleteOn a serious note, the kahal is a community of equals and always has been. Nothing new is being promoted here.
Well, at least I get one vote...And from Gene of all people...
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteDan, would you create a conversion program for Derek Leman?
DeleteI will call it 3 house.....
ReplyDeleteDan, as long as you don't call it an "outhouse", everyone will feel welcome:)
