Why I Haven't Wanted to Review Rudolph's Book "Introduction to Messianic Judaism"

All the Exclusionist blogs are talking about this book.  Even Inclusionist groups such as Torah Resource have reviewed it.  So why not me?

Well, it's a little personal.

He, Rudolph, refuses to acknowledge that his predecessor, a former president of the UMJC, wrongly prevented my wedding from taking place.  He actually found out what city we were in, found out who was going to perform the ceremony, found out his phone number, and proceeded to sabotage it.

So I can't review his book because I'm clearly biased against him.  I couldn't hope to give a proper review of that book.  It may even have some good points in it, who knows?  I haven't read it.  Don't plan on reading it.  Perhaps some others will review it more in depth for me.

And to Rudolph I can only say:  repudiate the evil that was done to me and my family.  Even if it harms your job, you need to repudiate it.

I'm a good man.  A hard-worker (which everyone I work with can tell you).  Honest.  I love Yeshua with all of my heart (which both my Believing and even Atheist friends can tell you).  The fire of Torah burns in my heart all the time and even wakes me up nights.  I'm a child of G-d.  And I didn't deserve what was done to me.

If you loved Yeshua as you said you do....you would keep his commandments. One of which is:

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

    But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

If G-d gave us what we deserved...who could stand? If you do not forgive your brother who hurt you, you will not be forgiven. Shalom

  2. I honestly don't think Peter's comment has anything with not following Yeshua. He told us why he is not doing something that is expected from him, and this is why he is hurt, and recognizes his possible bias on doing so because of that: people have the right to be hurt. Of course we have to love our neighbor and all that the upper guy said, but I think that, on such cases, where the "lack of love" is not one of HATE but of keeping a certain distance, and even avoiding giving place to hate, we should give it time to heal.

    Shalom

No, we should obey Yeshua, turn the other cheek, get over it and bless the one who hurt us. None of what you suggested Matheus, was included in our instructions from Messiah.

People think they have the "right" to be hurt and offended and contain and harbor "bias" and pass it on to others as we see in in Peter's comment "And to Rudolph I can only say: repudiate the evil that was done to me and my family. Even if it harms your job"

Obviously, a natural human reaction that Yeshua disapproves, but men want others to take up their offense and take their side.

Men like to appear innocent victims where G-d allows tests and trials for our edification. We justify ourselves in our flesh. We speak of how we "deserve to be treated". We insist on compensation for the grievances we suffer. We try to get others on our side.

But, to be a true disciple of Yeshua, we must pick up our cross daily and follow him.

"For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing." Apostle Peter

    1. THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF THINKING THAT ALLOWS PEDOPHILE PRIESTS TO ESCAPE PUNISHMENT.

WE DON'T "TURN THE CHEEK" WHEN A LEADER IS HURTING OTHERS. IN MY CASE HE HURT MY WIFE. TURNING THE CHEEK DOESN'T APPLY.

HOW ABOUT PROTECTING WOMEN? BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT.

    2. Peter, calm down...and stop shouting. It's juvenile.

Perhaps you are over reacting? I'm not sure what he did to your wife.

The girl I was about to marry was murdered along with a visiting cousin. Her roommate was shot in the spine and lives in a wheel chair right after her twins were born. Her roommates boyfriend also shot, but lived. All this after we were stalked for six months. The man was a member of our church.

He sits in prison without possibility of parole. Still, I forgive him. Why?

Because that is the way of our Messiah.

    3. Anonymous,

      (1) Do you believe in holding leaders accountable? Or should everyone just turn the other cheek?

      (2) Do you believe that Paul shouldn't have gone to the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15? I suppose he should've just turned the other cheek for the wrongs being done to the Gentiles?

    4. "Do you believe in holding leaders accountable? Or should everyone just turn the other cheek?"

Are you looking for a cloak for your root of bitterness?

"Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted."

"See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;"

What I think is, G-d is perfectly capable of holding his ministers to account and justice without your help.

If you want to be this man's judge that's your business. If you want to ignore what the Holy Spirit is saying to you in reminding you of those things Yeshua said, that's your business. But one thing is for certain:

"For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you."

You ignored my warning not to be a talebearer and stir up trouble. You accuse this man publicly and want your readers to pick up your offense and harbor it as their own. Men like to hear of the gossip and will most likely be talking about it. Most likely, you will justify yourself and your unforgiveness as well. You will also answer to G-d for every word you speak.

Most likely, you will justify yourself with the word Paul spoke and completely toss aside what our Master spoke.

"But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Go ahead and get your "pound of flesh". But you were warned, G-d will have his. Shalom

    5. You're citing wonderful justifications for inaction. I suppose had Martin Luther heeded your advice then he never would've spoken out against the Papacy. He would've understood that G-d could've held his ministers to account without Martin Luther's help.

    6. Peter, you are misunderstanding me. Not inaction, but doing things according to the way they are ordained by Messiah. First things first. He said it this way:

“ …why behold thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but consider not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye”

Once you have truthfully and completely forgiven your brother his trespass against you, when you love him as yourself, when you desire above all for this brother to receive all things you would desire for yourself….

Then your heart will be clean, your eye will be clear, the heavenly throne will take up your case in straightening out this mess.

You won’t on your best day accomplish anything good without Yeshua. Yeshua won’t back you up until you deal with your offense before the mercy seat.

Where does it say this in the Torah?

Yeshua's command does not say "in the Torah it is written".

Good observation. some people use this to show Yeshua changing the Torah.

    1. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

  9. Peter,

You shouldn't be surprised...Those guys are racists...Wait until Rudolph's or Cowen's sons bring home a shikse who refuses to convert, and see how quick they change their mind, theology and logic....

    1. They rejoice when a woman marries a Jew; but everyone freaks out when she marries a non-Jew. It doesn't get more racist than that. I'm so glad you understand my situation, brother.

But I do believe this happened to me for a reason. I wouldn't have been compelled to start this blog or assist the inclusionist ministries out there if this had not happened. If it hadn't happened, I'd be sitting in a UMJC synagogue right now at this very moment.

So I suppose all things work together for good... : )

  10. Ok. So this got really big. What I meant anonymous is that we should not point at Peter as not following Messiah just because he is still in the process of healing. He said why he didn't do something.

Now, Peter, I believe - for what I have seen in your comments - that there really is something to be healed. Forgive and love the person , fight the idea. I am not saying that they should be exempt of what they did - I don't even know what they did. But I believe that you should live justice to HaShem. I dont mean innaction: I mean acting in love against the idea, not letting the flesh put its hands on your holy fight for true.
